[Kalmah]"We had no guidelines for the new album. We just trusted the inspiration as with all previous albums and this time the inspiration came up with more melodies. This album turned out to be some kind of mix of all our albums. There are feelings from Swamplord and the heavy riffs of The Black Waltz combined with the new sound we managed to pull out. For me, this album has the best sound we have ever managed to do." – Antti Kokko

[Concert Review: The Metal Masters Tour] Halford wheeled his trusty, gleaming motorcycle out from under the drum kit of Scott Travis, launching into “Hell Bent for Leather” during the encore. Once again, his frailty was transparent as he barely got off his hog. The sing-along rants of scaling “yeah, yeah, yeahs” on the road to “You've Got Another Thing Coming” had me surrounded by a kennel full of Pavlovian Dogs who were impressed with their own obedience. As much as that particular song says there’s still something more…that was actually all there was for the Metal Masters.

[Iced Earth] Framing Armageddon featured several moments of brilliance, especially the epic “Ten Thousand Strong,” but Iced Earth spent too much time writing slower tracks and theatrical samples and not enough emphasis on writing the type of songs that brought Iced Earth into prominence—fist pumping, head banging heavy metal! They got it right this time, though, and Barlow’s voice provides the missing, nostalgic link to Something Wicked This Way Comes that simply didn’t exist with Ripper Owens.
