DVD About Former DECAPITATED Singer COVAN To Be Made Available This Week
After nearly a year of preparation, recording, and production, Mystic Production will release the "Covan Wake The Fuck Up" on December 12. The set was produced by Red Pig Productions and Creative Music.
In January 2012, the "Covan Wake The Fuck Up Tour" swept through 10 Polish cities in support of DECAPITATED singer Adrian "Covan" Kowanek, the victim of a tragic car accident. The DVD features excerpts from the charity concert in Krakow and near-40-minute documentary, where fans will learn all about its history and the current situation with Covan.
On October 29, 2007, a tour bus accident claimed the life of DECAPITATED drummer Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka, and gravely injured the band's lead singer, Kowanek, who has yet to make a full recovery.
After he underwent what was deemed to be "successful" neurosurgery, a 36-hour pharmacological coma ended with Covan suffering a cardiac arrest and diffuse cerebral hypoxia (wherein brain impairment occurs due to low blood oxygen levels) because of alleged "medical negligence." Covan returned home after another six months of treatment in October 2008. Since then, Covan has made vast improvements, but still is unable to communicate and care for himself and requires 24-hour care.
All proceeds from the DVD sales will go to cover Adrian's treatment.
33 bands from the Polish rock and metal scenes took part in a charity tour, "Covan Wake The Fuck Up Tour 2012", to help Covan.
The following bands performed in 10 biggest cities in Poland:
