Jared Leto has acted in My So-Called Life, Requiem For A Dream and Panic
Room. So yeah, you've got another Keanu who wants to be a rocker as
well. The record company downplays it, but the general populous gets it.
Fronting his modern rock/alternative band, 30 Seconds To Mars, and their
self-titled debut, Leto, thankfully has something going here. The songs
are amiable and a bit too tense for radio intake. There are moments,
like when he does that whisper/singing-thing, where you wish you had a
private panic room of your own. Overall, this electric and electro mix
of modern rock has fundamentals that must have made famed producer, Bob
Ezrin (KISS, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd) fascinated and 30 Seconds To Mars
is worth more than most of their peers on a song-by-song magnitude.
