Paradise Lost Kicks Off North American Tour With Nightwish

A central figure in one of the year’s most anticipated tours, Paradise Lost makes their triumphant return to North American stages on Monday for the first time in over three years alongside European brethren Nightwish. Considering the quality of their most recent release, “In Requiem,” if you’re at all a fan of dark, gloomy, melodic and aggressive music then you owe it to yourself to hear songs like “The Enemy” and album opener “Never For the Damned” live.

“In Requiem” charted in the Top 20 in Finland and Germany and in the Top 50 in Austria, Sweden, France and Switzerland in its first week on the market. Guitarist Aaron Aedy described the band’s 11th full-length as a “heavier, more complete version of the last few albums,” and the record has gone on to sell over 60,000 copies in Europe already. As clichéd as the term has become, if ever there were an appropriate time to use the phrase “a return to form,” this would be it. The UK quintet is hungrier and more inspired than ever, and if you’re at any one of the 28 North American shows shown below, you’re guaranteed to hear Paradise Lost at their best, crunchy riffs, gloomy atmosphere and Nick Holmes’ haunting vocals included.
