[Hail of Bullets] “Death metal offers a vast library of songs on the topic of war. British battering ram, Bolt Thrower made a career out of albums of this sort. The fact that Martin Van Drunen’s latest album …Of Frost and War recreates the epic battles on the Eastern Front in WWII may not come as such a surprise considering his time spent in Bolt Thrower. This album comes by way of Hail of Bullets—a name that delivers exactly what it suggests.

[Heavy Metal In Baghdad] Heavy Metal in Baghdad is a feature film documentary that follows the Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda from the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 to the present day. Watch the trailer now.

[Mercenary] Far and away one of metal’s most underrated acts, Denmark’s Mercenary have been crafting unique melodic metal for the better part of the decade. Their newest effort, Architect of Lies rounds out a now holy trinity of would-be classic albums that already include 2005’s 11 Dreams and ‘06’s The Hours That Remain. Now out in Europe, we can only hope this will see a proper North American release…

High. Rick Rubin can get these guys turned around
Curious. Now that Bob Rock is out the picture...
Skeptical. These guys haven't written a good song since "Don't Tread On Me."
Not interested at all. The underground metal scene passed James and Lars by years ago...
